Job description

Job Opportunity: PSV Engineer/Mechanic (Afternoon Shift) at Arriva

Arriva, one of the largest transport organizations in Europe, is seeking an experienced and ambitious PSV Engineer/Mechanic to join our garage team at the Heckmondwike Depot. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and involves maintaining our fleet of PCV vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Servicing and repairing vehicles to Arriva and DVSA standards
  • Improving vehicle standards continuously
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT
  • Diagnosing vehicle faults and ensuring reliability and maintenance meet high standards (above DVSA requirements)
Shift Details:

Shifts are 5/7, primarily afternoon shifts, with specific hours to be discussed at interview.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognized qualifications (e.g., Level 3 NVQ)
  • Ability to work safely and independently according to standards and guidelines
  • Electrical knowledge is desirable but not essential
  • A PCV license is desirable but not essential
  • Experience in vehicle inspection for scheduled maintenance (training provided), IRTEC accreditation preferred
