Job summary

FirstGroup plc in Lowestoft is seeking an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic to join our busy Lowestoft Depot.

You will diagnose faults, carry out servicing and repairs, respond to breakdowns, and road test vehicles. A UK driving licence and PSV/HGV experience are preferred, with a 39-hour week and a joining bonus.

We offer a competitive hourly rate with weekend premiums and opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience on HGV or PSV.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on PSV/HGV.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and routine inspections.
• Replace parts as required and perform preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries, road test vehicles.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and compliant with regs.
