Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support technicians and cleaning staff during shifts.
• Ensure all inspections, servicing, and repairs meet compliance standards.
• Provide hands-on technical support for complex faults.
• Drive workshop efficiency and productivity.
• Liaise with operations to minimise vehicle downtime.

Venatu Recruitment Group is proud to partner with a leading vehicle engineering organisation to recruit an experienced PSV/HGV Engineering Workshop Manager for a permanent position in Berkshire.

Engineering Workshop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy fleet maintenance workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and proven experience managing engineering teams within a fleet or commercial vehicle environment.

Hours: 4 on 4 off – 08:00 – 16:00

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of technicians and cleaning staff during shifts
• Ensure all inspections, servicing, and repairs meet DVSA and internal compliance standards
• Provide hands-on technical support, particularly with complex or urgent faults
• Drive workshop efficiency, safety, and productivity
• Liaise effectively with operations to minimise vehicle downtime
• Support training and ongoing development of the engineering team

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or HGV Maintenance
• Demonstrable experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) and relevant compliance standards
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• IT literacy and experience with fleet maintenance systems is desirable
