As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in providing onsite and remote support for a range of electric and hybrid vehicles. You will be responsible for service, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance at customer premises and depots, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and in alignment with company policies, safety standards, and customer expectations.

This role involves regional travel and occasional overnight stays, with regular training provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all aspects of PSV maintenance, inspections, fault diagnostics, and repairs on-site at customer locations or at the service centre.
  • Deliver high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective repairs using up-to-date technical documentation and diagnostic tools.
  • Work collaboratively with customers, the organisation's call centre, and parts department to ensure timely defect reporting, parts ordering, and issue resolution.
  • Digitally scan and submit completed job documentation to the service centre by the end of each working day or as soon as possible.
  • Proactively participate in product and technical training sessions to stay current with product developments and service techniques.
  • Support customers with repairs and servicing activities to build strong relationships and enhance their understanding of the product.
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times by following health & safety procedures and carrying out point-of-work risk assessments.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification (essential).
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, ideally with experience in electric or hybrid vehicle technology.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple customer sites.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays with reasonable notice.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and upholding the highest standards of technical service.
