ACS Automotive Recruitment Consultancy is seeking a PSV Field Service Technician for Scotland-based field work with a provided company van and fuel card. You will diagnose, service and repair buses and coaches, with overtime and call-out payments.

The role targets experienced PSV/Bus/Coach/HGV technicians with independent work style and strong customer service skills. Training and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a PSV/Bus/Coach or HGV Technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on buses and coaches.
• Service, maintenance and repairs to ensure roadworthiness.
• Undertake pre-delivery inspections and identify work required.
• Diagnose axle and driveline faults and repair as needed.
• Electrical fault finding including CAN diagnostics.
• Investigate faults on air systems and support repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment and maintain accurate service records.
• Communicate with customers and the technical team, work safely.

PSV Field Service Technician – Bus & Coach

Location: Scotland – Field Based

Starting salary: £55,000, depending on experience, plus overtime and call-out payments

Are you an experienced PSV, Bus, Coach or HGV Technician looking for a field service role with excellent earning potential and opportunities to develop your technical skills?

ACS Automotive Recruitment Consultancy is recruiting a PSV Field Service Technician on behalf of an established business within the bus and coach sector. Covering Scotland, you will carry out diagnostics, maintenance and repairs across a growing fleet of vehicles.

This opportunity would suit a capable technician who enjoys solving technical problems, working independently and providing a high standard of service.

Your responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on buses and coaches.
• Complete servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs to maintain vehicle reliability and roadworthiness.
• Undertake pre-delivery inspections and identify any work required before vehicles enter service.
• Diagnose and repair axle and driveline faults.
• Perform electrical fault finding, including diagnostics on CAN networks.
• Investigate and resolve faults on HGV and PSV air systems.
• Use specialist diagnostic equipment to identify faults and support effective repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance and work completed.
• Communicate clearly with customers and the wider technical team.
• Work safely and comply with relevant health and safety procedures.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a PSV Technician, Bus Technician, Coach Technician or HGV Technician, with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• A relevant qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair, such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
• The ability to work independently, organise your workload and manage your time effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
• A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Scotland.
• A Category D / PSV driving licence would be advantageous.
