Job overview

The post holder will support the Facilities Management (FM) Team and clinical teams, managing Patient Support Team (PST) staff to provide high-quality cleaning and patient movement services aligned with operational requirements.

Based mainly in Wards and Departments, responsible for staffing and resource management with support from Duty FM Managers.

Work closely with clinical staff, FM Helpdesk, and Duty Facilities Managers to maintain exceptional standards.

Main duties

Supervise cleaning tasks, schedules, and staff to meet service level agreements and NHS regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily cleaning operations and staff, ensuring compliance with SLAs and NHS regulations.
  • Support FM Duty Managers with staffing, rotas, and operational tasks.
  • Coordinate reactive tasks, staff induction, and training.
  • Communicate with clinical and FM staff, attend meetings, and represent cleaning services.
  • Ensure staff adhere to dress code and safety policies, manage equipment and supplies, and support recruitment.
  • Address patient and visitor queries, manage infection control, and maintain safety standards.
  • Conduct audits, manage PPE use, and oversee staff appraisals.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams, report incidents, and support risk assessments.
  • Complete operational tasks, manage leave requests, and ensure stock levels.
  • Promote trust values and perform other duties as needed, including flexible team rotation.
