Job description

Service Care Solutions is collaborating with a leading Gambling Support Charity to recruit suitable candidates for their service.

This well-established charity has been supporting individuals with various addictions, including gambling addiction, for many years. They seek candidates who align with their core values: Respect, Quality, Integrity, Partnership, Empowerment, and Commitment.

As a PSI Gambling Practitioner, your role will involve providing advice and support to clients to assist them on their Recovery Journey.

Salary: £17,219 per annum (pro-rata of £28,699 per annum)
Hours: 21 hours per week

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Support individuals in accessing the service through referrals and triages.
  • Conduct advice, screening, and assessments with individuals, families, or couples.
  • Provide longer-term structured interventions.
  • Develop and review recovery-oriented care plans with service users to monitor outcomes.
  • Manage cases and develop integrated pathways to meet service user needs.
  • Facilitate group programmes and support groups for service users, their friends, and family.
The Ideal Candidate:

Will have experience working in a multidisciplinary setting and with vulnerable populations. Experience in providing 1-1 interventions and, ideally, familiarity with gambling harms or addiction is preferred.

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must hold at least a level 4 qualification in a relevant field such as health and social care, social work, education, community, mental health, health promotion, or equivalent. Must also be capable of independent travel across the Tyne and Wear region.
