Job description

Are you a passionate and engaging PSHE / Citizenship Teacher eager to equip young women with essential life skills, knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, and an understanding of contemporary society? We are partnering with an Outstanding girls' school in Haringey that is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic temporary, part-time PSHE / Citizenship Teacher to join their dedicated team, starting ASAP. This is a wonderful opportunity to foster social awareness, critical thinking, and healthy personal development in students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with exciting potential for Key Stage 5.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be designing and delivering dynamic PSHE and Citizenship lessons, covering topics such as health and wellbeing, relationships, personal finance, democracy, and global issues, tailored for girls.
  • It's about creating a safe and inclusive environment for open discussion, encouraging empathy, and empowering students to make informed decisions.
  • You'll contribute to the school's pastoral care, potentially leading form tutor sessions or supporting student wellbeing initiatives.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong understanding of PSHE and Citizenship curriculum.
  • Experience teaching engaging and effective PSHE / Citizenship lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 for girls is highly desirable.
  • A deep and current understanding of relevant social and political issues, plus the ability to facilitate sensitive discussions.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, strong classroom management, and a genuine passion for holistic student development.
