Role Overview

As a trusted advisor to the 1st line of defence, the teams’ main objective is to enable the business to make effective risk-based decisions, considering the prudential regulatory framework and underpinned by robust controls and governance. The role holder is expected to take a lead role in performing 2nd line oversight of capital risk and presenting results to Senior Management and/or Executives as appropriate.

Role Requirements
  • Experience of leading or supporting 2nd lines assessment of the ICAAP
  • Ability to review and write papers for committees such as Capital Management Committee and ALCO
  • Ability to provide independent oversight and challenge capital reporting
  • Communication skills enabling you to work with the business to ensure efficient and risk-based deployment of capital resources and funding structures
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of conducting an annual capital risk appetite setting exercise, the calibration and selection of capital adequacy related limits and early-warning-indicators (EWIs) and capital policy
  • Experience in developing or providing oversight of a Recovery and Resolution Plan
