Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Southwark. You will support a classroom teacher across various subject lessons for secondary pupils with very challenging behaviours, requiring strong behaviour management and composure under pressure.

The role demands commitment, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils. Start ASAP, with a contract through at least July 2027, and salary aligned to the client's pay policy.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a PRU or similar intensive environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Assist alongside a classroom teacher in a variety of subject lessons.
• Support secondary pupils with extremely challenging behaviour and diverse needs.
