Job description

Primary PRU Teacher

Academics is seeking a strong Primary PRU teacher to start at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) at a small school based in Birmingham.

The school is looking for a creative Teacher who is experienced in working with pupils to deal with very challenging behaviour. It is a KS2 class with a small number of pupils. The position is full time and due to start immediately.

This PRU specialises in catering for children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school; as such, many of the pupils have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). Every class has full-time TA support.

What the successful Teacher should have:
  1. Experience of working in a PRU or with challenging behaviour
  2. Team Teach trained
  3. Experience with SEMH
  4. Qualified or highly experienced Unqualified Teacher/Instructor
  5. The ability to take on full class teaching responsibilities
  6. Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
  7. Must have experience of working with KS2 pupils
  8. Must have knowledge of the national curriculum
