Job description

PRU English Teacher

Remedy is seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join a dedicated team in Grays to inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.

As an English Teacher in our Alternative Provision, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students aged [insert age range], primarily at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment that addresses the emotional and behavioural needs of learners.
  • Use creative and flexible approaches to re-engage students with reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including support staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals, to provide holistic education and care.
  • Track student progress, plan interventions, and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS preferred, though unqualified candidates with relevant experience will be considered).
  • Experience or interest in working with students with SEMH needs, EHCPs, or those who have been excluded from mainstream education.
  • A patient, adaptable, trauma-informed practitioner with strong classroom management skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with young people, often in challenging circumstances.
