Job description

Job Opportunity: Secondary Teacher in Special Education

Are you a secondary teacher who believes that forming secure attachments is crucial for children's success? Do you recognize that children need real autonomy to make responsible decisions?

We offer a supportive and nurturing environment where you can build meaningful relationships with small groups of learners. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed and professional team due to increased demand for this provision.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting learners working at age-related expectations academically
  2. Providing significant social and emotional support to learners
  3. Developing learners' resilience, social skills, and self-esteem
  4. Planning and delivering relevant and engaging curricula
  5. Utilizing learners' special interests and skills
  6. Planning and supervising off-site and outdoor learning activities
  7. Managing break times and social situations
  8. Autonomy in planning and delivery
  9. Receiving a generous allocation of PPA time
  10. Access to high-quality CPD opportunities

You will work with up to six learners, with success measured by their progress in developing positive relationships and resilience, not solely academic achievement. You will have the time and space to nurture these learners to build confidence and self-reliance.
