As a Provider Billing Officer at Cromwell Hospital, you will play a crucial role in our mission by ensuring the efficient and accurate billing of our healthcare services. This role is part of the Cromwell Hospital Billing & Credit Control team within the Bupa UK Commercial & Finance team.
How you’ll help us make health happen
Provide comprehensive and flexible billing services to all hospital customers, maintaining excellent standards of customer care.
Thoroughly check and send out Provider (Doctors/Consultant) invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Raise invoices for Consultant Fees and post them to the Hospital Administration System.
Process monthly payment runs for consultant fees, ensuring correct setup with supplier IDs.
Manage the debt portfolio for consultant debt, focusing on resolving aged debt.
Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, pursuing prompt payment of invoices.
Check and dispatch routine letters, systematically review and chase overdue accounts by telephone.
Handle general and specific queries from doctors, purchasers, and other departments via telephone, letter, and in person.
Raise requests for consultant refunds and courtesy discounts, posting them to the Hospital Administration System.
Document processes and identify opportunities for improvement, implementing revised processes to support compliance with financial governance and best practices.
Assist with achieving Key Performance Indicators set for your area.
Perform other administrative duties, training, and attend meetings as directed by the Billing & Credit Control Manager.
Key Skills and Qualifications required for this role
Strong analytical skills with the ability to search out relevant information and explanations.
Good knowledge and experience of Excel is essential
Ability to identify and act on opportunities for process improvements, with attention to detail and integrity checking.
Highly developed influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to enthuse and gain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of work organisation, self-motivation, and flexibility in approach and attitude.
Strong customer service skills and a commitment to openness, honesty, and integrity.
Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
