Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of skincare or similar cosmetics formulation experience.
  • Completion of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists Diploma in Cosmetic Science preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cosmetics Regulatory landscape advantageous.

Job description

About the role

Working in the Prototyping Team and reporting to the Prototyping Formulation Manager, you will be part of the wider Formulation/Product Development Team in the R&D and Supply Chain function of the No7 Beauty Company.

You will work with other Formulation Technologists, Technicians, and Raw Material Specialists from your team, as well as Formulators, Testing, Quality, Safety, Regulatory, Packaging, and Project Managers from other teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Formulation of skincare prototypes.
  • Delivering projects within agreed cost, QSR standards, and timelines.
  • Driving a culture of scientific excellence through structured experimental plans and critical data evaluation.
  • Innovating technical solutions for complex problems, interpreting scientific data into valid conclusions, and providing clear business recommendations.
  • Managing project formulation timings and technical risks impacting delivery.
  • Building a collaborative network with Research and Product delivery colleagues, manufacturing partners, and raw material suppliers.
  • Designing and preparing consumer studies for prototyping.
  • Contributing to wider Prototyping and Formulation Team initiatives.

What you’ll need to have

The successful candidate will have a background in Cosmetic Formulation with at least 2 years of skincare or similar cosmetics formulation experience.

Additionally, the candidate should be able to:

  • Manage own time effectively.
  • Demonstrate high technical accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively.
  • Show sound scientific thinking and methodology.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred but not essential skills:

  • A degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • Completion of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists Diploma in Cosmetic Science.
  • Experience in patent searching.
  • Knowledge of Cosmetics Regulatory landscape.
  • Experience in Suncare/SPF formulation.
