PROTOTYPE ENGINEER

Due to continued success, my client are looking to add to their established team with the addition of a Prototype Engineer, with previous experience in any Manufacturing environment.

We are looking for an intelligent person, with good experience in the production of prototypes and working collaboratively with different departments.

THE ROLE:

• Report to the Design Manager.
• Responsibility for producing prototypes of machined components.
• Work with the engineering team to produce jigs and fixtures.
• Work collaboratively with the design, development, engineering and manufacturing teams to produce accurate prototypes for the different laboratories.
• Where required, implement tweaks to ensure the product can be designed efficiently.

THE PERSON:

• Proven background in the production of prototypes.
• Proven ability in precision component machining utilising turning and milling machines.
• Previous experience in welding would be desirable.
• Ability to interpret component and assembly technical drawings and produce prototypes within the tolerances required.
• Good communication skills along with a working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work within tight timescales delivering prototypes to the laboratories within the timeframe agreed.
• Experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
