Job summary

ECM Selection in Cambridge is seeking a Hardware Assembly Technician to join a defence-focused team building electro-mechanical prototypes for aviation and defence. You will solder, wire, harness cables, perform mechanical integration and use precision hand tools on site.

Applicants should hold an HND/BTEC in electrical or electronics engineering with hands-on electronics or mechanical experience; optical assembly integration is a plus.

Qualifications

• HND / BTEC in electrical or electronics engineering with hands-on experience in electronics/mechanical/manufacturing.
• Experience in mechanical assembly and ideally integration of optical assembly.
• Strong appreciation of QA processes and documentation in dynamic environments.
• Good communication skills to deliver projects and prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototypes and finished electro-mechanical products on site.
• Perform soldering, wiring and cable harnessing as part of assembly.
• Conduct mechanical integration and use hand power tools for precision assembly.
• Ensure QA documentation is completed accurately and on time.
