Prototype Build Readiness Lead

Job summary

Gerrell & Hard Limited is seeking a Prototype Build Coordinator on a 6-month rolling contract (Outside IR35) to drive prototype parts readiness and build planning. You will manage BOMs, parts availability and containment actions, working closely with Engineering, Purchasing and Prototype Stores to keep builds on time and within cost and DVP requirements.

The role requires proactive risk management, clear escalation of issues and a drive for lessons learned to improve future low-volume prototype

Qualifications

• BOM management and parts tracking experience.
• BOM management experience in a similar/coordinating role.
• Understanding of DVP, containment, rework and corrective-action processes.
• Experience in automotive engineering or prototype build environments, preferably low-volume.
• Proficiency in Excel for analysing and presenting data.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for programme reporting.
• Strong coordination, communication and organisational skills; able to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to present technical/programme information to stakeholders with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage BOMs and parts requirements with Engineering, Purchasing and Prototype Stores to ensure on-time components.
• Resolve parts shortages, delivery risks and build constraints; capture, implement and sign off containments and reworks.
• Monitor and report prototype parts build readiness; highlight outstanding parts, issues, risks and blockers.
• Coordinate actions to completion while maintaining accurate build schedules, parts lists and programme data.
• Support lessons learned and continuous improvement for future prototype build planning.
