Protein Senior Scientist


Location: Cambridgeshire


Our Client is a fast growing, value driven CRO in the biotechnology research sector. They provide a high quality service to their customers in a number of industries including pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Their values play a key role in the way they work and the high standard of the products they produce.


They are looking for a senior scientist to join their drugs development solutions team to lead LC-MS activities specifically for the quantitation of peptides and proteins within biological fluids.


Key responsibilities include:

  1. Design and develop quantitative LC-MS bioanalytical methods
  2. Validating assays in line with regulatory guidance and internal SOPs
  3. Provide bioanalytical support in troubleshooting methodologies and instrumentation
  4. Engaging in continuous improvement, investigating, and implementing new technologies to improve service offering

Skills Required:

  1. Degree in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, biological science, or equivalent
  2. An in-depth knowledge and experience in protein / peptide bioanalytical LC-MS method development and troubleshooting
  3. Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring others
  4. Familiarity with the GLP/GCP guidelines associated with bioanalytical work
  5. Experience with high resolution mass spectrometry applied to proteins or peptides would be desirable
  6. Understanding of hybrid LC-MS techniques and application of automated workflows would be desirable
  7. Understanding of protein chemistry would be desirable
