About The Opportunity

Have you considered a role working in the Energy and Power market? Wondering how you can develop and deploy your skills in a new and exciting sector?

Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing, and we’re looking for an Electrical Engineer with experience in Protection & Control / Secondary Design to support projects across Jacobs’ markets. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms, and advanced facilities for mission-critical industries in technology and process sectors. We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in rail, oil and gas refineries, or substation/plant design.

We value collaboration and believe in-person interactions are crucial for our culture and client delivery. Our hybrid working policy allows employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to enable optimal performance.

Here's what you'll need

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Experience in electrical disciplines and delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects, e.g., Rail or Oil and Gas Refinery.
  • Relevant professional experience with HV and LV systems, 33kV - 400kV.
  • Experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings. CAD experience (AutoCAD or Microstation) is preferred but not essential.
