Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Protection and Control Design Engineer to join our Battery Energy Storage System team in Leeds. You will develop protection schemes for HV networks and interface with TO/DNO substations, delivering safe and reliable BESS protection.

You will prepare AC/DC schematics, relay logic and coordination studies, and work with installation teams to ensure design integrity. A degree in Electrical Engineering and proven HV protection experience are preferred.

Formación

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
• Experience designing HV protection systems from 11kV to 132kV.
• Knowledge of G99/G100 and TO/DNO specifications is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Develop protection schemes for transformers, feeders, switchgear and BESS inverters.
• Prepare AC/DC schematics, protection logic and relay diagrams.
• Produce wiring diagrams, schedules and technical reports.
• Specify CTs, VTs, relays and panels; review vendor specs.
• Contribute to short-circuit, load flow and fault-level studies.
• Develop SCADA interfaces and communications architectures.
• Ensure designs comply with G99/G100 and applicable standards.
• Collaborate with other design teams and support installation.
