Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Business Engagement Officer (Protection) within the Fire and Rescue Service Protection Team to lead business engagement across Suffolk, coordinate multi-agency Impact Days, and oversee Battery Energy Storage System and solar installation consultations. This role supports PAS and promotes safer communities.

You will engage with businesses, partners and communities to reduce risk, analyse data, and deliver targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience working with businesses, partners or stakeholders
• Ability to communicate regulatory information clearly
• Organised and proactive with multi-priority handling
• Confident using IT systems and data
• Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge with team support
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Suffolk

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with businesses and partner organisations
• Deliver business engagement activity and multi-agency Impact Days
• Analyse Unwanted Fire Signals data to help reduce incidents
• Support the Primary Authority Scheme and consistent fire safety advice
• Contribute to consultations on technologies like BESS and solar
• Collaborate across Prevention, Protection and Response teams
