Job Description

We are seeking a Protection and Control (P&C) commissioning engineer to join our Power Networks team within our Net Zero Energy Business. This position can be home-based or based from one of our UK offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Epsom, or Leeds, with site visits across the UK expected.

The UK energy market is undergoing significant change as the country aims for a net zero carbon target. The sector is adapting to modern generation, transmission and distribution technologies, energy storage, and increased demand from electrification of transport and heat. Networks play a crucial role in connecting renewable energy, with transmission network operators securing c.£8bn as part of the RIIO T2 package.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy sector, delivering impactful projects and contributing to Net Zero goals. We promote a collaborative environment where everyone's voice is valued.

Your purpose:
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of protection and control systems in projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Attend site visits, FAT, and SAT as required.
What you can bring:
  • HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Experience in commissioning P&C of substations in the UK (NG and/or SSE).
  • BP141 or equivalent authorization or ability to obtain it.
  • Strong adherence to safety and quality regulations.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Right to work in the UK.
