Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Protection & Control Design Engineer to support National Grid transmission projects on a remote basis. You will lead detailed design, SCADA integration, and relay settings development across 132kV-400kV substations.

The contract is initially 6 months with potential extensions; experience with National Grid standards is essential. Part-time candidates will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in Protection & Control design for energy/utility projects.
• Knowledge of SCADA integration and interface design.
• Experience with relay settings and protection philosophies.

Protection & Control Design Engineer

Location: Remote working

Contract: Initial 6 Months

Rate: £75-95 per hour (Inside IR35)

An urgent requirement has arisen for experienced Protection & Control Design Engineers with SCADA experience to support the delivery of major National Grid transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Protection & Control detailed design for National Grid transmission projects
• SCADA integration and interface design
• Development of protection philosophies, schematics and detailed design deliverables
• Relay settings and logic design
• Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Support FEED, tender and construction design phases

Requirements

• Protection & Control Design experience on UK transmission projects
• SCADA design experience within transmission substations
• Detailed Design experience gained with a UK Transmission Owner or UK contractor
• Experience working on substations between 132kV and 400kV
• Strong understanding of National Grid standards and requirements

Part-time candidates will also be considered.
