An experienced Protection & Control Engineer is sought for contract roles in the energy sector. Are you an experienced Protection & Control Engineer looking for your next project? We are actively supporting a key global client across the transmission, distribution, and renewable energy sectors, and are seeking skilled engineers for contract roles delivering critical infrastructure across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems across substations and HV networks (11kV–400kV).
• Prepare protection schemes and settings calculations for transformer, feeder, and busbar protection (including distance, differential, and backup).
• Develop and review control schematics, logic diagrams, and single-line drawings.
• Interface with design, construction, commissioning, and client teams throughout project lifecycle.
• Lead or support FAT/SAT processes and documentation.
Candidate Requirements:
• Solid experience in Protection & Control within transmission, distribution, or grid-connected renewable projects.
• Strong understanding of National Grid, DNO or IDNO standards and specifications.
• Proficiency in protection relay systems (e.g., Siemens, ABB, GE, SEL).
• HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and SCADA integration is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites or commissioning locations.
