Job summary

Steeper Group in Maidstone’s Kent and Medway Prosthetic Centre is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated prosthetics rehab team. You will assess, treat and advise patients with limb absence, working autonomously within a multidisciplinary setting to maximise independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration required.
• Experience in amputee rehabilitation or prosthetics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake highly specialist, person-centred assessment of adults and children with complex presentations.
• Provide specialist upper and lower limb prosthetic rehabilitation, including assessment and training.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate individualized rehabilitation programmes based on patient goals.
• Communicate with patients, families and carers sensitively.
• Work collaboratively with Prosthetists, Physiotherapists and other professionals.
• Provide specialist advice and training to colleagues and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HCPC standards.
• Contribute to service development, audits and continuous improvement.
• Support and supervise colleagues and learners.
• Maintain safeguarding, consent and patient safety.
