Job description

Service Care Solutions is working alongside an expanding Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, which is in need of a Prosecution Solicitor to join their team.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 4-6 months with potential extension
• Part-time role
• Competitive pay rates:
• PAYE (Inc. Holidays): £44.48 - £48.87 per hour
• Umbrella: £50 - £55 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of criminal matters including theft, assault, drug offences, fraud, and public order offences.
• Represent clients during police station interviews (including out-of-hours availability if required).
• Prepare and advocate cases in Magistrates’ Courts; instruct counsel for Crown Court trials.
• Draft legal documents, case summaries, and instructions to counsel.
• Advise clients on evidence and appropriate pleas.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a valid Practising Certificate.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (preferred for travel).
• Ability to manage workload under pressure and meet deadlines.
