Job description

Service Care Solutions is working alongside an expanding Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, which is in need of a Prosecution Solicitor to join their team.

This role pays a competitive rate of:

  • PAYE (Inc. Hol) - £44.48 - £48.87 per hour
  • Umbrella - £50-£55 per hour

This role is on a 4-6 month contract with potential to extend and is a part-time position.

Responsibilities as a Prosecution Solicitor:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of criminal matters including theft, assault, drug offences, fraud, and public order offences.
  • Represent clients during police station interviews (with out-of-hours availability, if required).
  • Prepare and advocate cases in Magistrates’ Courts; instruct counsel for Crown Court trials.
  • Draft legal documents, case summaries, and instructions to counsel.
  • Advise clients on the strength of evidence and appropriate pleas.

About you as a Prosecution Solicitor:

  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (preferred for travel to courts/police stations).
  • Ability to manage workload under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a valid Practising Certificate.
