Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency - Department for Transport Careers

You will line manage a team of Case Officers, including performance management, quality assurance, and caseload distribution. You will support line managers by producing statistical analysis to monitor team performance, quality check failures, and support business cases as needed. You will work closely with the Training and Development team to ensure smooth operation of new entrant Vehicle and Traffic Examiner courses.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing prosecution cases according to Scottish law and the legal system
  • Providing support, advice, and guidance on laws and conducting legal and factual research for management decisions
  • Managing fixed penalty deposit reports, case distribution, and completion
  • Drafting legal documents and standard forms to assist with coaching and training
  • Conducting legal and factual research on team-related areas and presenting findings
  • Delivering staff management tasks including reviews, disciplinary actions, sickness management, performance monitoring, and reporting
  • Contributing to court cost audits in collaboration with line managers
  • Presenting on prosecution issues and fixed penalties during training sessions for staff
