Job summary

Serco Group Plc is seeking a Propulsion Technician to support Typhoon propulsion at our UK facilities. You will ensure EJ200 engines and related components are well maintained and ready for operation, contributing to national defence capability.

You will move assets, perform inspections, repairs, and document maintenance in electronic systems, while adhering to MAA regulations and committing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience of engine maintenance within an operational environment.

• Strong attention to detail with a proactive and positive approach.
• Good communication skills and confidence working from technical documentation.
• IT literate and comfortable learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Move assets safely within the Typhoon Propulsion Support Facility using forklifts and cranes.
• Unpack and repack EJ200 engines and line replaceable items (LRIs).
• Conduct visual and borescope inspections on engines and associated hardware.
• Perform EJ200 engine repairs and maintenance activities.
• Remove, install, and repair engine modules and accessories.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records using engine and aircraft electronic systems.
• Support continuous improvement activities to ensure compliance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations.
• Maintain competency across practical and data-based engine maintenance processes.

As a Propulsion Technician in our Typhoon Propulsion Support Facilities team, you'll help keep the RAF Typhoon platform mission-ready by ensuring EJ200 engines and accessories are expertly maintained and fully serviceable. Your work has purpose, creating impactful solutions that support national defence capability and help colleagues trust in the equipment they rely on every day.

Working at the forward-depth interface, you'll play a key role in maintaining critical aviation assets that contribute to a positive impact on communities and the future of UK defence. Through precision, care, and technical excellence, you'll support innovation and readiness while helping to protect the people and places that matter most.

What you’ll do as a Propulsion Technician

• Safely move assets throughout the Typhoon Propulsion Support Facility, including operating forklifts and cranes.
