Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks a Proposals Manager to shepherd opportunities from capture through handover, building winning teams with business leaders and technical experts. You will craft compelling strategies and ensure high-quality, profitable proposals across diverse sectors.

You will also maintain a bid knowledge library, drive improvements, and help integrate AI into the work-winning lifecycle, enabling fast, collaborative delivery across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject.
• APMP Foundation as a minimum.
• Knowledge of Environmental and Earth Sciences proposals preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management and prioritisation.

The Earth & Environment Proposals Team plays a crucial role in positioning WSP to win profitable business and drive growth. You will be responsible for leading teams through the WSP Work Winning Lifecycle, from Capture to Handover.

A Little More About Your Role...

As a Proposals Manager, you will be assigned opportunities which you will take through the WSP Work Winning Lifecycle. In collaboration with business leaders, technical specialists and proposal professionals, you will: form winning teams to position WSP and influence our clients; create compelling win strategies; develop quality and profitable proposals; and efficiently handover from bid to delivery teams to allow for smooth mobilisation. Alongside your involvement in leading bids, you will be required to engage in maintaining our bid knowledge library, supporting work winning improvement initiatives and support our ongoing drive to integrate AI and continuous improvements to all stages of the work winning lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage opportunities through the WSP Work Winning Lifecycle (Capture, Bid Prep, Qualification, RFP, Lessons learned, Handover).
• Follow WSP best practice and comply with internal governance requirements.
• Influence and communicate at a senior level whilst managing interfaces with the wider proposals team, other UK/global business streams and partners.
• Facilitate the development of delivery solutions, winning bid strategies and key messages.
• Work with technical authors to write and review impactful, tailored and compelling content.
• Support project teams in preparing for interviews.
• Acting as a hub of best practice and knowledge for proposals.
• Acting as a mentor for junior members in the team.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate...

• Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject
• APMP Foundation as a minimum
• Knowledge of services/proposals within the Environmental and Earth Sciences discipline is preferred.
• Strong and effective verbal and written communication, with a collaborative approach.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise.
• Excellent command of language for editing text and response writing.
