Our client is currently recruiting for a Proposals Lead. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a permanent, full-time basis and offers hybrid working.
ROLE
The main purpose of the Proposal Lead role is to lead a team capable of supporting the company's growth in the Angola region through the preparation of robust proposals for targeted projects, following the 7-step Business Acquisition Process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain high-accuracy Market Data, including reporting as-bid data and tracking project awards to the company or competitors.
- Coordinate project selection ensuring capacity, resources, and equipment are available for successful bid execution, in collaboration with the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure tenders are properly selected, prepared, and reviewed for consistency with Angola Senior Management and Commercial Manager.
- Bid only on projects with a reasonable chance of success, considering customer, competition, and risks.
- Develop capture strategies for all new prospective work and encourage technical and commercial innovation.
- Support the development of the project execution plan with the Commercial Manager and Operations Director.
- Prepare and submit error-free proposals on schedule, aligning with client specifications and the Basis of Bid process.
- Aim to win additional work at agreed margins, with risks identified and managed.
- Assist the Commercial Manager and Senior Management with contract negotiations, providing detailed backup, analysis, and relevant documentation.

Support to other Departments:
- Collaborate with the Commercial Manager and Operations Director on bidding strategies.
- Coordinate bid input and contribute to risk and opportunity management.
- Liaise with regional managers and proposals teams.
