Our client is seeking an experienced engineer to join their team in Peterborough as a Proposal Engineer.

The Proposal Engineer will support the growing business by providing process solutions to organizations throughout the UK.

Reporting to the Sales Office Manager, the Proposal Engineer will use industry knowledge to prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for the design, manufacture, installation, and management of process equipment. Responsibilities include gathering information to prepare and send proposals to customers, ensuring satisfaction, maintaining existing client contracts, and seeking new clients and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical proposals and bids according to sales and engineering specifications.
• Conduct discussions and review project requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to establish costs and design parameters.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Produce comprehensive proposal documents in Word, including images and tables.
• Work with suppliers to ensure accurate equipment pricing.
• Maintain relevant documents and trackers.
• Create detailed costing sheets in Excel.
• Participate in fortnightly sales review meetings.
• Follow up on proposals and record feedback.

Applicants should have a degree or HNC in an engineering field or equivalent experience, along with proven experience in technical sales and process engineering roles.
