About the Company:

We're partnered with a market leader offering fluid-flow solutions for HVAC systems both in the UK & globally. Their products aim to improve both energy performance and sustainability in building systems & are renowned for their quality.

Joining their dynamic proposals team based South of Birmingham, my client is looking for a highly skilled Proposals Engineer to develop accurate, customer-focused, competitive proposals that position our client as a solution to enquiries for packaged plantroom solutions (including associated off-site systems).

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret Technical Requirements - Carefully analyse client specifications, drawings, and documentation to fully understand the technical and commercial scope of a project.

· Create Accurate and Competitive Proposals - Produce well-structured proposals that include pricing, design details, and technical justifications-tailored to meet the client's requirements and the company's capabilities.

· Estimate Project Costs - Build detailed cost estimates, factoring in materials, labour, manufacturing, and third-party inputs-while identifying cost-effective alternatives where appropriate.

· Coordinate with Internal Teams - Work closely with engineering, procurement, and production departments to gather input needed for proposals and ensure technical feasibility.

· Engage with Clients - Serve as the main point of contact during the proposal phase, handling technical questions, attending meetings, and supporting negotiations where needed.

· Ensure Proposal Quality and Timeliness - Meet internal quality benchmarks and deadlines by managing proposal documentation, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Requirements:

· Must be HNC qualified in Building Services Engineering, or similar.

· At least 3 years' experience in a similar role with estimating, proposals and pricing responsibilities. Building Services estimating experience is a nice-to-have.

· Proficiency in the use of CAD/AUTOCAD for both costing purposes & spatial design.

· Strong knowledge of UK-specific contract & tendering processes.

· Strong communicational skills, concise reporting skills & ability to liaise with stakeholders.
