Proportionate Care Project Lead OT - Slough Borough Council - 41 per hour

Slough Borough Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Project Lead Occupational Therapist to join a forward-thinking and innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a project focused on promoting independence through proportionate care. The council offers a full-time contract, a supportive team structure, and hybrid working options.

This vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months, with the potential for extension.



Main Duties for the Lead Occupational Therapist include:

  • Leading on single-handed and proportionate care package reviews

  • Providing clinical supervision to the Proportionate Care Project OT

  • Conducting specialist moving and handling risk assessments

  • Specifying and arranging the provision of complex equipment and adaptations

  • Working collaboratively to reduce care input while promoting service user independence

  • Ensuring safeguarding, dignity, and respect are embedded in all practice



To Be Successful:

  • Substantial experience working as an Occupational Therapist in community settings

  • Experience with major adaptations and specialist equipment

  • Proven ability to supervise or mentor other OTs

  • Confident in manual handling assessments and complex risk management

  • HCPC Registration

  • Enhanced DBS (we can obtain this for you)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
