Join Our Team

As a Property Underwriter you will provide a pivotal role in assessing and evaluating risks, managing portfolios, and driving underwriting results. Your responsibilities include:

  • Underwrite and administer risks (including new and existing business as well as midterm adjustments) and issue accurate, compliant documentation on behalf of Insurers.
  • Demonstrate strong trading and negotiation skills.
  • Manage the ongoing performance improvement, balance efficiency and discipline in underwriting the portfolio.
  • Achieve any individual targets and contribute towards team/business targets.
  • Collaborate with brokers and clients to gather necessary and accurate information to provide risk evaluation.
  • Work closely with Exposure Management to mitigate the portfolio risks.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the Ceded team to enable the purchase ofappropriate reinsurance
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • To clearly demonstrate strong trading, sales, and negotiation skills in the attainment of new and renewal business.
  • Rate renewals, issue and communicate effectively with ourclientsto ensure we retain and secure cases/renewals.
  • Review cases, and if we are required to place elsewhere or improve profitability, explore solutions and present back with options.
  • Deal with any mid-term adjustments on existing policies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in real estate and/or property underwriting ofcommercial property risks
  • Experience in working with MGA and Binders
  • Good numeracy skills as well as good PC and software skills
  • Ability to handle multiple deals in parallel without losing oversight
  • High level of productivity and will to deliver
  • Track record of working closely withstakeholdersto build strong strategicrelationships
