About the role

We are looking to recruit an ambitious Senior Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Team as the lead technical specialist on Property Stamp Taxes (namely SDLT, LTT, ATED, and LBTT). We are open to candidates with a particular specialism within real estate, such as VAT or Capital Taxes.

Description

We recognize that most Property Tax experts come from a career advising on another major tax, such as VAT, Real Estate, or Capital Taxes, as part of a wider tax team. Our client base includes land and property sector clients, and your work will primarily involve these projects.

You will work with a diverse range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to expanding corporates, on various interesting and challenging tax advisory projects. A significant part of your role will involve coaching and mentoring junior team members to develop their skills as tax advisors. You will also support business development activities to help expand our presence in the Midlands market.

With support from our Tax Partners, you will have opportunities to further develop your skills and progress towards a Tax Director role. We offer flexible hybrid working arrangements, allowing you to work from the office, home, or client sites, balancing flexibility with excellent client service.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  1. Lead technical specialist on SDLT and other property taxes.
  2. Deliver a wide range of tax advisory projects.
  3. Develop and coach trainees to become accomplished business advisors.
  4. Contribute to business development in the local marketplace.

To be considered, you should have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a Tax advisory environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Management experience and enjoyment in developing teams.
  • A desire to contribute to the success and growth of Bishop Fleming.
