Job summary

Tandridge District Council is looking for an enthusiastic Property Solicitor to join our in‑house Legal Service. You will advise on residential and commercial property matters and support housing law knowledge while supervising legal assistants and paralegals.

You will manage a portfolio, deliver timely advice to internal clients including senior officers and elected members, and collaborate across Asset Management, Housing Enabling and Property Services teams. Hybrid remote working is supported.

Qualifications

• Must have strong post‑qualification experience as a Property Solicitor with ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
• Confident, professional and an effective communicator who can deliver on time to stakeholders including senior officers and elected members.
• Excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office and Outlook, plus a secure understanding of data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, external contacts and third parties.
• Support Asset Management, Housing Enabling, Property Services and Housing teams with property law matters.
• Supervise Legal Assistants and Paralegals and progress Lease Extensions and Right to Buy purchases.
• Proactively manage a portfolio of matters and keep internal clients updated on progress.
