Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is looking for an ambitious Property Solicitor/Lawyer to join our Legal Service. You will advise on commercial and residential property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, auctions, academy transfers and agricultural tenancies.

The postholder will work with colleagues across directorates and external clients in a flexible, hybrid working model, with training provided where needed and opportunities to develop in other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Qualified as Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX and eligible to practise.
• Ability to handle both commercial and residential property matters.
• Willingness to develop across other disciplines within the service.

Responsibilities

• Advise on all aspects of property law for commercial and residential matters.
• Manage acquisitions, disposals, leases, auctions and tenancies.
• Support academy transfers, agricultural tenancies and related transactions.
