Job summary

The Actuary is seeking an experienced Pricing Actuary to join a growing Property team within a leading Lloyd's market insurer. You will design and enhance pricing models, work with underwriters to refine rating structures and drive portfolio performance.

You will leverage Python/R/SQL to build pricing tools, monitor pricing performance and support capital allocation initiatives across underwriting, exposure management and reserving. Mentoring others is a plus.

Qualifications

• FIA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience pricing Commercial Property business, ideally within the Lloyd's or London Market.
• Strong technical skills, including Python, R and/or SQL.
• HX pricing software experience would be beneficial but isn't essential.
• Previous mentoring or management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain pricing models across the Property portfolio.
• Partner with underwriters to understand products, define rating structures and develop pricing tools.
• Identify and utilise data sources to improve pricing accuracy.
• Develop and maintain pricing templates and models for underwriting teams.
• Support pricing software and tools development and deployment.
• Collaborate with Exposure Management on portfolio accumulations and cat exposures.
• Contribute to risk-based pricing views across modelled and non-modelled perils.
• Act as pricing SME, providing technical support and enhancing tools.
• Monitor pricing performance using metrics like pricing adequacy and ROE.
• Produce MI to highlight portfolio trends and underperforming segments.
• Contribute to portfolio optimisation, business planning and capital allocation.
• Work with pricing, reserving and capital to ensure a consistent portfolio view.
• Support regulatory pricing requirements where needed.
