Main Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Manage all aspects of Litigation work, providing technical guidance to team members when appropriate
  • Handle a caseload of varying types and complexities
Key Tasks:
  • Resolve boundary disputes between neighbors
  • Handle landlord and tenant issues, including arrears, breaches, evictions, and renewals
  • Advise on rights of way and easements
  • Manage nuisance and trespass claims
  • Handle property ownership disputes
  • Address development-related disputes, including covenants and planning
  • Act in disrepair cases for landlords and tenants
  • Manage mortgage repossessions and commercial property matters
  • Attend clients, take instructions, prepare cases, and maintain accurate time records
  • Ensure compliance with file management and implement supervisor recommendations
Key Skills Required:
  • Valid Practising Certificate at application time
  • Team player with adaptability and proactive approach
  • Excellent client care, networking, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment
  • Experience with publicly funded litigation and private cases
  • Extensive Probate Litigation experience
  • Advocacy skills are advantageous
