Property Litigation Solicitor

Contract: 12 months Fixed Term Contract

WFH: 3 days working from home, subject to the company’s agile working policy

Location: London

Reporting to: Director of Legal and Head of Litigation

Direct Reports: N/A

Job purpose:

Fantastic new 12-month Fixed Term Contract working within the litigation team of a leading Asset Manager. Providing legal support and advice with a focus on dispute resolution, litigation, and minimising risk to the business. Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its associated regulations is essential for this role.

Key accountabilities:

• Liaising with and taking instructions from the Director of Legal, Head of Litigation, as well as the Managing Director and other senior managers and staff as required.
• Handling own case load of property litigation matters, with appropriate supervision, dealing with all stages of disputes from pre-litigation up to and including trial/hearing advocacy (as required).
• Dealing with other building safety and property litigation matters as required, with supervision.
• Liaising with external solicitors and Counsel, monitoring external costs and obtaining expenditure approvals.
• Providing support and advice to internal clients on property legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Supporting staff in maintaining case files, records, reports, and legal activity documentation.
• Managing deadlines and protecting the company’s interests.
• Drafting and reviewing documents and agreements, advising on procedures and policies.

Skills and knowledge:

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales with current Practising Certificate
• Minimum 5 years relevant post-qualification experience
• Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022
• Experience with residential long leasehold properties
• Attention to detail, integrity, reliability
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines, good organizational skills, team player
• Strong drafting and communication skills
• Experience in advocacy, conveyancing, property transactions, and GDPR
