Job summary

KMA Legal Recruitment in London is seeking a Dispute Resolution solicitor with a focus on property disputes to join our busy team. The role is heavily weighted toward Property Litigation (80%) with 20% Commercial Litigation, offering a varied caseload and close collaboration with partners to grow the department.

You will manage a mixed caseload, develop client relationships, and contribute to high-profile disputes within a respected firm.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years PQE in property and commercial litigation.
• Proven BD capabilities and client-networking track record.
• Experience handling complex property disputes and cross-border issues.

Responsibilities

• Advise occupiers on landlord and tenant disputes and related matters.
• Manage cases involving commercial forfeiture, and lease renewals.
• Handle Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals and contested renewals.
• Oversee rent review disputes and service charge litigation.
• Manage real property disputes including boundaries and easements.
• Work on joint venture disputes and insolvency matters related to property.
• Handle shareholder disputes including unfair prejudice petitions.

A Legal 500 law firm with offices in across London and the UK are seeking a Dispute Resolution solicitor with a focus on property disputes to join their busy team.

Role Description

You will join the firm’s busy London office and take on a varied and complex caseload heavily weighted toward Property Litigation (80%), supplemented by high-value Commercial Litigation matters (20%). This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile disputes, manage your own caseload, and work closely with the partners to expand the department’s footprint.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Advising large corporate occupiers and asset managers on landlord and tenant disputes.
• Managing cases involving commercial forfeiture, relief from forfeiture, and contested break notices.
• Handling Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals and opposed lease renewals.
• Dealing with contested rent reviews and complex service charge litigation.
• Managing real property disputes, including boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, and easements.
• Dealing with insolvency matters insofar as they relate to property.
• Advising on complex joint venture disputes and commercial insolvency matters.
• Handling shareholder disputes, including bringing and defending Section 994 (unfair prejudice) petitions.
• Managing commercial disputes arising within the education sector, including breaches of partnership and distribution arrangements.
• Leading on disclosure in the business and property courts, drafting witness statements, and managing all steps to trial.
• Formulating strategic, cost-effective solutions tailored to clients' commercial realities.
