Property Lawyer – Kent Local Authority – Hybrid – Full Time

Venn Group is currently working with a Kent local authority to recruit a locum Property Lawyer on an initial three-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, dynamic legal team, handling a broad range of property matters within the local authority.

Details:
Job Title: Property Lawyer
Hourly Rate: Competitive umbrella rate (negotiable depending on experience)
Length of Contract: 3 months initially with a high possibility for further extension
Working Pattern: Full-time – 36 hours per week
Location: Kent
Office attendance: Hybrid or fully remote

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Acting on a broad range of property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, and leasehold issues
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating property-related contracts and documentation
  • Advising internal stakeholders on property transactions and related legal matters
  • Managing a varied caseload independently while contributing to the small legal team
  • Providing pragmatic, commercially aware advice within the local government context

Preferred experience:

  • Strong practitioner-level experience in local authority property work
  • Ability to manage a broad caseload and work independently
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
  • Previous experience in a small team environment desirable
