Job summary

Essex Police and Kent Police are recruiting a Property Officer to manage evidential property at Braintree, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role involves accurate recording on the Property Management system and secure storage in line with force policy.

You will work in a small team, handling hazardous items and assisting with administration, data protection, and IT tasks. A full, clean driving licence is desirable and a calm, customer-focused approach is essential.

• Experience of working cooperatively with others providing help and support both internal and external customers.
• Managing challenging interactions in a calm and professional manner, treating people fairly.
• Ability to manage and take responsibility of own actions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with administration and storage of evidential property.
• Ensure items entering police possession are recorded on the Property Management computer system.
• Secure storage and compliance with relevant documentation and policy.
• Handle lifting of items and dangerous items (drugs, firearms) when required.
