Job summary

G2 Legal Limited is recruiting a Residential Development Associate for its Manchester team. The role targets lawyers with 3–5 PQE who can handle high-value land transactions and work with major housebuilders, developers, promoters and landowners across England and Wales.

The successful candidate will join a leading residential development practice, gaining exposure to strategic land acquisitions, development agreements and joint ventures, with strong training and clear progression paths.

Qualifications

• 3–5 PQE in residential development or related field.
• UK qualified solicitor (solicitor-advocate not required).
• Experience with land transactions is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex land transactions including acquisitions, development and collaboration agreements.
• Draft and negotiate conditional contracts, options and funding arrangements.
• Support urban regeneration projects and joint ventures for major housebuilders and landowners.

Job description

A leading national law firm is looking to appoint a Residential Development Associate (3 to 5 PQE) to join its highly regarded Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest and most established residential development practices, acting exclusively for major housebuilders, regional developers, promoters and institutional landowners.

You will work on complex, high-value land transactions across England and Wales, including strategic land acquisitions, development and collaboration agreements, conditional contracts, options, funding arrangements, urban regeneration projects and joint ventures.

The role offers exposure to nationally significant residential development schemes, with the support of specialist planning, construction and litigation teams, allowing lawyers to focus on high-quality land acquisition work. While experience advising housebuilders would be beneficial, the firm is also keen to speak with commercial property solicitors who have strong development experience and are looking to specialise in residential development.
