Job summary

A recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Property & Casualty Underwriter to join its expanding team in Leeds. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Property and Casualty alongside excellent analytical and communication skills. Responsibilities include managing new business and renewals, and building relationships with brokers. Candidates with Dip CII or working towards ACII qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in the UK General Insurance market is essential.
• Ability to make confident decisions in a composite insurance environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Pragmatic and confident decision maker with good numerical reasoning.
• Strong analytical skills with account monitoring experience.
• Technical underwriting expertise in a composite insurance environment (non-package).
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance (including TCF).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Wearerecruiting for an experienced Underwriter that has strong Property and Casualty background and underwriting experience to join an expanding team.

You will have the option to work on a combination of new business, renewals, or both, depending on where your experience lies.

What Qualifications are required?

• Dip CII Qualification or working towards ACII qualification
• Exposure to the UK General Insurance market is essential, including existing trading relationships specifically across the Leeds markets
• Strong trading capability commercial awareness, negotiation skills, ability to build strong broker relationships
• Pragmatic and confident decision maker with good numerical reasoning skills
• Strong analytical skills with proven experience of account monitoring and action planningTechnical underwriting expertise in a composite insurance environment (non-package)
• Sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance (including treating customers fairly)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
