About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and detail–oriented Health & Safety Compliance Officer to join our Estates team. This is a dynamic opportunity to take ownership of key safety initiatives, shape best practices, and work across a broad portfolio of properties – both residential and commercial. If you're passionate about creating safe, compliant environments and thrive on collaboration and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.

1. Leading Health & Safety Projects

  • Drive improvements in how health & safety information is shared across the Estate and with commercial tenants.
  • Identify gaps, propose solutions, and establish clear, ongoing processes to ensure regulatory compliance under the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999).
  • Support Fire Safety and Compliance initiatives, including Mandatory Occurrence Reporting.
  • Advise residential teams on safety compliance for head lessees and Right to Manage properties.
  • Monitor and review Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring actions are completed and risks are clearly reported.

2. Ensuring Health & Safety Compliance

  • Stay on top of legislative changes and best practice standards – and apply them across the Estate.
  • Develop and implement up–to–date, effective health & safety policies.
  • Audit contractors, properties, and maintenance works to ensure full compliance.
  • Lead contractor management and ensure supply chain competency.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, reporting lessons learned and follow–up actions.
  • Participate in the Health & Safety Committee and maintain robust records and reports.

3. Driving General Management Excellence

  • Support the procurement of competent service providers and manage tender processes in line with company policy.
  • Onboard suppliers while ensuring compliance and competence for their contracted works.
  • Work cross–functionally with other departments to meet business goals.
  • Review and authorise quotes and invoices accurately and efficiently.

4. Supporting the Head of FM Compliance

  • Provide hands–on support to deliver team and compliance objectives.
  • Assist with audits and inspections of managing agents and externally managed sites.
  • Offer resilience and backup to the team as needed.
Required skills
  • Strong knowledge of property health & safety legislation and best practices including Building Safety Act 2022, CDM Regulations 2015, Fire Safety Act 2022
  • Experience working with residential and commercial property portfolios.
  • A proactive mindset with excellent problem–solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across teams and with external partners effectively.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification (desirable but not essential if experience is strong).
  • Experience interpreting and implementing new legislation and setting up policies and processes to ensure compliance.
  • Competent in reviewing and writing Health and Safety and Fire Risk Assessments.
Why Join Us?
  • Work on a diverse and high–profile estate with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with supportive teams and respected consultants.
  • Opportunity to drive real change and shape our health & safety culture.
  • Be part of a professional and forward–thinking environment where your expertise is valued.
