Asda is seeking a Property and Construction Health & Safety Manager, responsible for enforcing and evolving health and safety policies across the construction sector. This role requires a proactive individual skilled in stakeholder engagement and risk management, ensuring safety standards are met and promoting a positive health and safety culture.

The Property & Construction Health and Safety Manager is primarily responsible for evolving and enforcing Asda's Construction Health and Safety policies. As the owner of the 'Asda Way of Working' and Asbestos Management plan the role requires a candidate who can drive a positive health and safety culture engaging with key stakeholders across many areas of the business.
1. Leading the Health & Safety Protocols for wider Construction Execution and 3rd Party contractors ensuring all required standards, due diligence and measures are met and can be demonstrated.
2. Responsible for embedding the strategy that ensures the Asda Client Duties are met in line with the Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM 2015), and refresher training on construction
3. Lead all elements and planning of the corporate requirements in construction and safety including managing hazards across our estate such Asbestos and Radon.
4. Manage an asbestos re-inspection programme for Asda’s portfolio, inclusive of tenant units along with delivery of associated remedial works
5. Ensure a current system-based approach to maintain accurate monitoring of activity on site and the formal appointment of stakeholders carrying out duties under CDM
6. Managing inherent risk in Asda's buildings, delivering a considered approach to control measures and priority focus to drive optimum capital expenditure
7. Engage with the Asda Compliance team cross functionally to ensure an aligned approach to all Health and Safety matters
8. Responsible for ensuring the competence of approved Asda contractors by way of formalised auditing over regular intervals
9. Ensure site standards are inspected over a sample of projects throughout the year to demonstrate that the Asda Health and Safety culture is sustained and improved.
10. Attend working groups as a key stakeholder to improve compliance standards and develop control measures to mitigate incidents.
11. Candidate should be qualified to a graduate level with specialist experience in CDM 2015
