Property and Casualty Senior Underwriter

Overview

Grow your career at the forefront of Property and Casualty (P&C) multi-line insurance and help develop AIG’s P&C portfolio. As a Senior Underwriter, you will leverage your technical expertise and people skills to make a significant impact. This role offers an excellent opportunity to step into your first Senior level position.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive portfolio development and profitable growth within the Casualty Product by working on creative solutions for multi-line mid-market risks. Underwrite a range of new and renewal business, building strong relationships with brokers to support business growth and client service.
• Communicate risk appetite and value proposition to brokers, understand deal structures, and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Expand your broker and client networks by attending industry events and maintaining strong relationships, providing excellent service through proactive underwriting practices.
• Collaborate with distribution teams, territory managers, and other underwriters to identify cross-selling opportunities and target desirable accounts.
• Meet individual underwriting targets to help the team achieve financial objectives, demonstrating behaviors such as motivation, technical skill, proactivity, and accountability.
• Mentor and guide junior colleagues, setting high standards of customer service and supporting their professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven underwriting experience preferred, with good knowledge of Casualty insurance and some experience in Property insurance. Alternative relevant experience may be considered.
• Desire to contribute to the development of AIG’s P&C portfolio in regional markets.
• Strong network of broker contacts and ability to build direct relationships with large clients.
• Customer-focused, motivated, tenacious, and technically skilled with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and manage time effectively.
• Interest in mentoring and training is a plus.
